Change in Recycling Process

The Township has switched over the DPW yard from the previous recycling service. The present recycling process allows clear and colored glass bottles and jars, tin cans, aluminum cans and plastics 1 through 7 to be comingled. Please note that at the Township DPW Yard we do not have the capacity to accept large plastic items. We ask that items from bucket size on up be taken to the Petticoat Lane recycling facility in Annandale for recycling.

The recycling of junk mail and magazines, newspapers that are bundled and cross-tied, fiber products and cardboard, household dry cell batteries and auto batteries remains the same.

A scrap steel bin for washing machines, dryers, sheet metal, etc. is available to Township residents all year long during normal recycling hours.

An electronics container is available for Township residents to recycle just about anything that has a cord, such as irons, telephones, radios, toasters, TVs, computers and so forth. This recycling is available all year long during normal recycling hours as well.

The Township does not recycle plastic bags. For information on where to recycle them log on to PlasticBagRecycling.org.
